29 એપ્રિલ 2020ના રોજ, અમેરિકાની વિવાદાસ્પદ સંસ્થા USCIRF (યુનાઇટેડ સ્ટેટ્સ કમિશન ઓફ રિલિજીયસ ફ્રીડમ)એ ભારતને "ખાસ ચિંતા માટેના દેશો"ની શ્રેણીમાં મૂકવા માટેનું સૂચન આપ્યું. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે આ જ શ્રેણીમાં પાકિસ્તાન, સાઉદી અરેબિયા, ચીન અને ઉત્તર કોરિયા જેવા દેશો પણ છે. અહેવાલમાં ત્રણ કમિશનરોએ આ સૂચન સાથે પોતાનો મતભેદ પણ દર્શાવ્યો. પરંતુ આમ જોઈએ તો અહેવાલે અમેરિકાની સરકારને ઘણી બધી સલાહ અને સોફ્ટ ધાક-ધમકીઓ આપી. જેવી કે, ભારતના "પ્રતાડિત લઘુમતીઓ"ને અમેરિકાના એલચીઓએ મળવું થી લઈને ભારતની એજ્નસી અને ઓફિસર્સ ઉપર સેન્ક્શન લગાવવા. ભારતનાં વિદેશ મંત્રાલયે રિપોર્ટને બાયસ્ડ કહ્યો અને સાથે જ આ સંસ્થાને વ્યંગાત્મક  રીતે  "ખાસ ચિંતા માટેની સંસ્થા" કહી. આ પ્રત્યુત્તર સ્વાભાવિક રીતે થોડોક ઉગ્ર લાગી શકે પણ જો ખરેખર કોઈ અહેવાલ વાંચે તો ખબર પડે કે તે કેટલો પક્ષપાત ભરેલો છે અને સાથે જ જુઠ્ઠાણાંથી ભરપૂર છે. પહેલું, કમિશનનું CAA પરનું અવલોકન પૂરેપૂરું એક તરફી છે. અહેવાલ નવા CAAને કડક શબ્દોમાં વખોડી નાખે છે પરંતુ એક સ્વાભાવિક વાતને અવગણે છે. પાકિસ્તાન, અફઘાનિસ્તાન અને બાંગ્...

It was May of 1951. Heated debates were going in the Parliament. Proposal to amend constitution was put forward by Nehru government. It was just 14 months since constitution for new republic was accepted. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, communists and other members of Indian National Congress were against the proposal. However, the proposal was passed in the parliament and constitution of India was amended for the very first time. Amendment brought radical changes in relationships between citizen and state. Freedom of speech, freedom to trade, right to equality and right to hold property were changed with this amendment. Congress party, headed by Nehru, was aspirational in bringing land reforms in the country. UP and Bihar legislative assemblies had passed land reforms but they were stuck down by the judiciary with consideration of rights granted by constitution. Use of children and infants as the face of the protests is the new low among world and Indian protestors, and especially left. The rise of Greta Thunberg is one of the examples that how it serves multiple purposes. In Indian media, this disease has been started. From last two days, we are constantly getting news that how ‘brave’ women are protesting against the ‘archaic’ CAA law with their 20 days old and 30 days old infants. Few media houses went one step ahead and covered that how the infants are not being breastfed for days as their parents are protesting against the government. For them, this is instance of the bravery. In logistics, I learnt one  argumentum ad populum  (Latin phrase) which means appeal to people. Take an example of Farhan Akhtar who replied that so many people are protesting against this which means this must be wrong. But after this much use of children and infants in the protests, I have slightly changed it to  argumentum ad infantulum...

(The article was originally published on Indiafacts ) Jawaharlal Nehru—the first prime minister of India was also author of the numerous books specifically about history. History books written by Nehru matter a lot because these are books which are considered as the  standard source  for the one who is graduating in history or preparing for the prestigious civil services exams. Thus, distortions in such texts is dangerous as such bureaucrats often have no recourse to alternate ideas. They have to believe what it is written in the ‘ standard source’ . Now, instead of discussing the person, it would be more fruitful to discuss the argument itself.
